The Bounce Forward Journal (blog.bounceforwardco.com) is published by Bounce Forward Co. Please read this disclaimer carefully before using any information on this site. By reading the Journal or following anything in it, you agree to it.
The Journal is information, not medical advice
Everything on the Journal, including articles, illustrations, videos, exercise descriptions, programs, progressions, FAQs, and comments, is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified health care provider.
Our articles are written by certified pre and postnatal fitness coaches. Our coaches are not physicians, midwives, nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, or mental health professionals, and nothing on the Journal should be taken as the advice of one. Reading the Journal, commenting, or contacting us does not create a practitioner–patient relationship of any kind.
Talk to your health care provider first
Always consult your doctor, midwife, or another qualified health professional before beginning any exercise program, changing your activity level, or acting on anything you read here. This matters most if you:
- are pregnant or have recently given birth (get clearance at your postpartum check-up before returning to exercise; the timing is individual, not a fixed number of weeks)
- have had a Caesarean birth, other surgery, or a birth injury
- have been told you have, or think you may have, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, or pelvic pain
- have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, a bone or joint condition, or any other medical condition
- are taking medication that affects how you exercise
- have any pain, injury, or symptom you have not had assessed
Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read on the Journal.
Stop if something feels wrong
Stop exercising immediately and contact your health care provider if you experience pain, vaginal bleeding, fluid leakage, dizziness or faintness, chest pain, shortness of breath before exertion, a headache, calf pain or swelling, contractions, a feeling of heaviness, pressure, or bulging in the pelvis, or anything that feels wrong. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number right away.
You exercise at your own risk
Physical activity carries a risk of injury. You are responsible for your own health and safety, for knowing your own limits, and for using appropriate equipment and space. By using any exercise, program, or information from the Journal you agree that you do so voluntarily, at your own risk, and that Bounce Forward Co., its owners, coaches, contributors, and employees are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from its use, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
No guarantees
Everybody and every recovery is different. We describe what our coaches typically program and what many people find helpful. We make no promises about results, timelines, or outcomes, and any progression or timeline in an article is an example, not a guarantee.
Accuracy and sources
We do our best to keep articles accurate and to cite reputable sources (such as ACOG, the NHS, the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, and peer-reviewed research). Health guidance changes, and we cannot guarantee that every article reflects the latest evidence at the moment you read it. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for their content.
Bounce Forward programs
Bounce Forward memberships and programs are fitness services, not health care. The same disclaimer applies to them and to any communication with our coaches. Program-specific terms are on bounceforwardco.com.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to tell us about an error in an article, contact us through bounceforwardco.com. This disclaimer may be updated from time to time; the effective date above tells you when it last changed.
